Schiller is an impact crater to the south of the lunar front , east of Phocylides crater and northwest of Clavius . Schiller has a peculiar, elongated-oval shape, with the longitudinal axis pointing to the northwest (in the approximate direction of the Mare Orientale ). At the northern end there is an elongated, comb-like elevation, otherwise the crater floor is largely flat.
