N'Bushe Wright
N'Bushe Wright (* 20th September 1970 in New York City ) is an American actress .
Life
The father of the African American N'Bushe Wright was the jazz musician Suleiman-Marim Wright, her mother was a psychologist . Wright learned to dance at the Alvin Ailey Dance Center and at the Martha Graham School of Dance , and later studied acting with Stella Adler .
Wright made her debut in the award-winning 1992 drama Zebrahead . From 1992 to 1993 she starred in several episodes of the television series I'll Fly Away . In the drama Fresh (1994) she played the drug-addicted sister of the main character Michael Fresh ; Samuel L. Jackson played her father. In the horror film Blade (1998), in which she starred alongside Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson , she played the victim of a vampire and infected Dr. Karen Jenson , who supports Blade .
Wright took on one of the leading roles in the comedy Three Times Is Once Too Much (2000). She also played a leading role in the award-winning drama Civil Brand (2002). For her role in the mini television series Widows (2002) she was nominated for the Image Award in 2003 .
