The N6 or RN6 is a trunk road ( French route national , "national road") in Niger , which begins in Niamey at the exit of the N25 and ends at the border with Burkina Faso . There it turns into an unnumbered street. In Kordey it intersects with the N27 and the N14 . It is 119 kilometers long.

The N6 was an earth road until 1981, which was difficult to use, especially in the rainy season. From 1981 to 1984 it was paved. The Federal Republic of Germany provided the financial means for this through the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau . A renovation was completed in 2005. Driving over with overloaded trucks soon led to road damage again.

The road leads in a north-east-south-west direction through the larger towns of Makalondi and Torodi and through several small villages. It is nine meters wide, with the roadway width being seven meters. The N6 is the most important road connection from Niger to Burkina Faso and belongs to the Dakar-N'Djamena Highway in the Trans-African Highways system . It is of great importance for the import of grain, food, textiles and building materials, among other things. For inland Niger, it is an important stage on the way to the sea ports of Abidjan , Lomé , Takoradi and Tema .
