Stefan Kapičić
Stefan Kapičić (born December 1, 1978 in Cologne ) is a Serbian actor who became known for playing the mutant Colossus from the films Deadpool and Deadpool 2 .
Early years and personal matters
Stefan Kapičić was born in Cologne, the son of Dragan Kapičić, a Yugoslav basketball player who played for the BSC Saturn Cologne team at the time, and his wife, the actress Slobodanka "Beba" Zugić. When Stefan was three years old, the family moved back to Yugoslavia. After school, Kapičić studied drama at the University of the Arts Belgrade in Belgrade .
In addition to his native Serbian , he also speaks English , German and Russian .
Kapičić has been engaged to Croatian actress Ivana Horvat since 2014 . They live alternately in Los Angeles and in Zagreb .
Career
Kapičić first appeared in a number of Serbian short and feature films. From 2008 he was seen in several guest roles on US television, such as The Unit - A question of honor , Numbers - The logic of crime , 24 or The Event . 2012 was seen in the film The Call of the Whales . In 2015 he played the role of his father in the Serbian film Bicemo prvaci sveta , which is about the victory of the Yugoslav team at the 1970 basketball world championship .
His international breakthrough came through the role of the mutant Collossus , whom he impersonated for the first time in 2016 in Deadpool . The character has been played by Daniel Cudmore in previous parts of the film series , but director Tim Miller wanted an actor with a believable Russian accent. In addition, Kapičić benefited from his height of 1.93 m. In the final film, he then gave the character his voice and played the movements using motion capture . He also appeared in this role again in the sequel Deadpool 2 . In 2018 he took on a supporting role in the fourth season of the Better Call Saul series as Casper alongside Rainer Bock in a German design team.
