The section of the N25 between Arlit and Tahoua is the first section of the 650-kilometer Route de l'Uranium (“ Uranium Road”), over which the products of uranium mining in Niger are transported. The Route de l'Uranium continues on the N29 , the N1 and the N7 to the state border with Benin . The destination of road transport is the port of Cotonou . The Route de l'Uranium was paved between 1976 and 1980. Agreements with the uranium mining companies ensure its maintenance.
