Tebaram is a rural municipality in the department of Tahoua in Niger .

geography

Tébaram is located in the Sahel region . The neighboring communities are Tillia in the north, Takanamat in the northeast, Bambeye in the southeast, Bagaroua in the south, Kourfeye Center in the southwest and Sanam in the northwest. The municipality is divided into 21 administrative villages, 41 hamlets and a camp. The main town of the rural community is the village of Tébaram on the western edge of the Ader landscape .

history

The rural community of Tébaram emerged from the western part of the canton of Bambeye in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform.

population

At the 2001 census, Tébaram had 30,771 inhabitants. For 2010, 41,458 inhabitants were calculated.

politics

Ibrahim Doroua ( PNDS-Tarayya ) was elected mayor in the local elections in July 2004 . On April 15, 2010, the Council of Ministers appointed Dan Fane Weslamane as Administrator ( Administrateur Délégué ) of the municipalities of Bambeye, Tébaram and Takanamat.

Economy and Infrastructure

The parish is predominantly in an area where agropastoralism is practiced. The zone of rain-fed agriculture begins in the southeast . Labor migration abroad is also of economic importance for the population . National road 25 runs through Tébaram and connects the town via Filingué with the Nigerien capital Niamey .
