The NAF Neunkirchener Achsenfabrik AG is a family owned company in Neunkirchen am Brand in Bavaria produces, the axles and transmissions for self-propelled machines for construction, forestry and agriculture. NAF is the market leader for powered bogie axles (forest machine drives).

history

The NAF was founded on March 24, 1960 by the then Mayor of Neunkirchen and Bavarian state parliament member Georg Hemmerlein and the Munich entrepreneur Kaspar Lochner. In 1968 the production of planetary axles began. In 1970 the development office in Munich was opened by Ernst Auer. In 1974 Helmut Weyhausen took over the company. Tandem axles have been produced since 1976. In 2002 NAF was converted to an AG . Jochen Weyhausen-Sauer became chairman of the supervisory board. Subsequently, his son Rigk Sauer was chairman of the supervisory board for several years. In April 2012, the long-standing CEO, Ralf Sauer, moved to the Supervisory Board and was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
