NK Croatia Sesvete is a Croatian football club from Zagreb .

history

The club was founded in 1957 as Sljeme , a mountain of the same name, at the foot of which the sports area was located. Until 1988 they played in various Yugoslav leagues under this name, before the club got the name of the Sesvete district . From 1996 to 1997 the largest liquor manufacturer in Croatia sponsored the association and therefore it acted as NK Badel Sesvete during this time . After the sponsorship contract expired, the nickname was deleted again and since 1998 the club has been called NK Croatia Sesvete .

The greatest club success was achieved in the 2007/08 season with promotion to the Croatian first division .

Stadion

The SRC Sesvete stadium is located in the district of the same name and has a capacity of 3,500 spectators. It consists of a tubular steel grandstand, which is now more than just dilapidated. Croatia Sesvete is one of those clubs that will definitely have to restructure and modernize in the next few years if they want to meet the new requirements of the Croatian Football Association for the second division. These requirements have been based on those of UEFA since 2006 .

In the first division season 2008/09, the club carried the home games in the stadium of the NK Zagreb .
