Novice ( Novice - Slovenski tednik za Koroško , News / News - Slovenian weekly newspaper for Carinthia ) is a Slovenian- language weekly newspaper for Carinthia published in Klagenfurt .
It is published jointly by interest groups / ethnic group organizations of the Carinthian Slovenes .
The two chief editors and owners
- the Christian-Conservative Council of Carinthian Slovenes (Narodni svet koroških Slovencev, NSKS)
- the left-liberal central association of Slovenian organizations in Carinthia (Zveza slovenskih organizacij na Koroškem, ZSO)
distribute Novice through their SloMedia (Slovenski medijski center, Slovenian media center) GmbH , in which they each have a 50 percent stake through two confidants.
Novice was created in 2003 through the merger of the NSKS and ZSO, the weekly newspapers
- Naš tednik (Our weekly newspaper) , first published in September 1949, publisher: Council of Carinthian Slovenes
- Slovenski vestnik (Slovenian Gazette) , first published in June 1946, publisher: Central Association of Slovenian Organizations in Carinthia
and was first published on April 11, 2003, with an edition of 3500 copies.
