Nachal troop

The Nachal Troop ( Hebrew להקת הנח"ל Lahakat haNachal , also Lehakat haNachal or Lahakat Nachal ), named after the Nachal organization , is the best-known and most successful musical troupe of the Israeli Army (IDF) and the first to be established within the IDF itself. The Nachal troop was founded in 1950. She is considered the successor to HaTschisbatron ( Hebrew הצ'יזבטרון), which existed from 1948 to 1950, and has performed hundreds of songs by well-known Israeli artists. Dozens of well-known singers and entertainers have emerged from their ranks.

Among the former members of the Nachal troupe are Chaim Topol , Jair Rosenblum , Nechama Hendel, Jossi Banai , Arik Einstein , Yehoram Gaon , Uri Zohar and Jardena Arasi . Artists who have written lyrics for the Nachal troupe include Sascha Argow , Naomi Shemer and Ephraim Kishon .
