Nad Ali ( Pashto / Dari :ناد علی) is a district in the southern Afghan province of Helmand .
Its population is made up of 80% Pashtuns , 10% Hazara , 5% Tajiks and 5% Baluch . The total population in 2006 was 235,590. Most of the western part of the district is desert. The east of the district is densely populated and is home to the majority of its residents, who live near the provincial capital of Helmand, Laschkar Gah . The total area of the district is 4564 square kilometers.
