Nader Abbassi is an Egyptian singer, bassoonist, conductor and composer.

Life

Nader Abbassi was Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Cairo Opera Orchestra from 2002 to 2011 . He made his debut here in 2002 in a performance of the opera Aida at the Pyramids of Giza . In 2011 he became artistic and musical director of the ATARA Culture Foundation, Doha - Qatar and musical director and principal conductor of the newly created Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra QPO . Since 2015 he has been the artistic director and principal conductor of the United Philharmonic Orchestra . He is artistic director of the Orchestra de la Paix in Paris. At the “ International Stenhammar Singing Competition”In Norrköping he is a permanent member of the jury. In 2006 he directed a performance of the opera Maria Golovin by the American composer Gian Carlo Menotti at the Marseille Opera House and has been a regular guest conductor there ever since. Worldwide he led various orchestras such as the State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate , the Philharmonic Orchestra Heidelberg , the orchestra of the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich , Philharmonique de Marseille, the Orchester National Pays de la Loire , the Orchestra National Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Basel Symphony Orchestra , the Philharmonic Orchestra of Norrköping, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lisbon, the Slovenian Philharmonic, Ljubljana and the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.
