Nadine Van der Velde
Nadine Van der Velde (born May 14, 1962 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress , screenwriter and film producer .
Life and accomplishments
Van der Velde made his debut opposite Phoebe Cates in the 1983 comedy Die Superanmacher . In the SF horror comedy Critters - You're There! (1986) played the role of April Brown , girlfriend of Steve Elliot , played by Billy Zane .
Van der Velde produced the cartoon Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Kids (2003), for which she was nominated for the Gemini Award in 2004. She received her second nomination for the Gemini Award in 2005 for the production of the television series Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends , for which she also wrote screenplays. She writes scripts for several episodes of the animated series Rolie Polie Olie, which has been produced since 1998 . For this activity she won the Daytime Emmy Award in 2000 and 2005 ; in 2002, 2003 and 2004 she was nominated for the same award. She also wrote the script for the comedy East of A (2000) starring Adam Arkin , in which she played a supporting role.
Van der Velde has been married to actor Patrick Breen since 1992 and has two children.
