Nadja-Carola Bigall

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nadja-Carola Bigall (* 1979 in Munich ) is a German physicist ( physical chemistry , nanosciences ).

Nadja-Carola Bigall studied physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (and in Hamburg) with a diploma in 2006 and received her doctorate in 2009 from the Technical University of Dresden ( representation of precious metal nanoparticles and their superstructures ). From 2009 to 2011 she was a post-doctoral student at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa and from 2011 to 2012 at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 2012 she came to the Institute for Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Leibniz University Hannover as a habilitation student , where she has been a junior research group leader since 2013 and the professorship for functional nanostructures since 2017.

She deals with the construction of assemblies from nanoparticles (with template or colloidal ), semiconducting, metallic and superparamagnetic nanoparticles. In MAEROSTRUC project it is dedicated to the production of new ultra-light materials from nanoparticles with additional features, for example, in batteries, sensors, touch screens and in photocatalysis could be used.

In 2017 she received an ERC Starting Grant worth 1.5 million euros for her MAEROSTRUC project.
