Naftali Amsterdam ( Hebrew נפתלי אמסטרדם; * 1832 in Salant , today Lithuania ; † February 10, 1916 in Jerusalem ) was an Orthodox rabbi and one of the leaders of the Mussar movement .

Naftali Amsterdam was a pupil of Israel Salanter , from 1867 rabbi in Helsinki , from 1876 in St. Petersburg , from 1880 back in Lithuania. After the death of his wife in 1906, he moved to Jerusalem to devote himself entirely to piety and a secluded life.

Naftali Amsterdam is buried on the Mount of Olives .
