Nahamm Kim (born April 24, 1969 in Busan , South Korea ) is a German Protestant theologian with Korean roots who holds a chair for practical theology at the Tabor Protestant University in Marburg.

Life

Kim grew up in South Korea and came to Hamm , North Rhine-Westphalia in 1977 due to her father's postgraduate studies in theology . She spent her elementary school there until 1980 and the first few years at high school until the family returned to Korea in 1983. Kim, like her younger sister Mihamm Kim-Rauchholz , studied Protestant theology in Seoul and from 1992 back in Germany in Heidelberg and Tübingen . In 2003 she did her doctorate in Heidelberg with a dissertation on creative suffering: the theological assessment of suffering in pastoral care by Erich Schick . After that she worked as a mentor and lecturer for practical theology at the theological seminar of the Liebenzeller Mission until 2006 . From 2006 to 2008 she held a chair for practical theology at Soongshil University (Korea) and has been professor for practical theology at the Evangelical University of Tabor since 2009.

She works in many committees and is a member of the Ecumenical Association for the Promotion of Preaching , the Working Group for Diversity of the German Society for Pastoral Psychology , the Korean Association of Christian Counseling and Psychotherapy (KACCP) , where she was also a member of the scientific advisory board between 2007 and 2010 . Furthermore, the Korean Association of Christian Counselors (KAPC) , The Korea Society of Mission Studies (KSMS) and the Korean Society of Practical Theology (KSPTh) , here also as a member of the scientific advisory board.

Kim worked on research projects such as the interdisciplinary research project “Prayer” (from 2009 to 2012) and the project “The Theological Assessment of Suffering in Erich Schick's Pastoral Teaching” (from 2009 to 2011).

She is also involved in the Community Holiday Festival Spring , on the advisory board of the Bärenstark association , and as a speaker at Christian events.
