Mihamm Kim-Rauchholz (born February 3, 1971 in Busan , South Korea ) is a Korean theologian with a chair for New Testament and Greek at the Liebenzell International University (IHL).

Live and act

Kim-Rauchholz grew up in South Korea and came to Hamm , North Rhine-Westphalia , in 1977 because of her father's postgraduate studies in theology . Like her older sister Nahamm Kim , she studied Protestant theology in Seoul after the family returned to Korea in 1983 and, from 1994, in Tübingen and Heidelberg . In 2005 she did her doctorate with Hans-Joachim Eckstein at the Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on the conversion of Lukas. On the nature and meaning of metanoia in the theology of the third evangelist . From 2000 to 2004 and 2008/2009 she was a lecturer at the theological seminar of the Liebenzeller Mission . From 2004 to 2007 she performed a missionary activity in Chuuk (Micronesia), lectured at the Pacific Islands Bible College , now Pacific Islands University, and worked with her husband on a research project on Traditional, Legal and Christian Forms of Resolving Violent Conflicts in Chuuk, Micronesia . Between 2009 and 2010 she was in Pohnpei (Micronesia) as a visiting professor at the College of Micronesia in Palikir . She has been a professor at the International University of Liebenzell (IHL) since 2011 and holds a chair for New Testament and Greek and is on leave for the period of her stay abroad from January 2019 to August 2022.

Kim-Rauchholz has been a member of the board of the working group for evangelical theology (AfeT e.V.) since 2013 , is an employee of the Parish Holiday Festival Spring , member of the Missionsberggemeinde in Bad Liebenzell and can be heard there at sermons in church services. She is a sought-after speaker at many conferences , meetings , camps and missionary events. She has been a member of the ERF sponsoring association since 2020 .

Awards

In 2009 she received the Johann Tobias Beck Prize for her study on how Lukas turned back. On the nature and meaning of metanoia in the theology of the third evangelist . She examined the central motif of conversion in Luke and asked about the activity of man in receiving salvation in relation to the work of God .

Private

Mihamm Kim-Rauchholz is married to Manuel Rauchholz . The couple has three daughters and has been living in Chicago / USA since January 2019 , where her husband teaches as a professor for anthropology and intercultural studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
