Nairy Baghramian
Nairy Baghramian (* 1971 in Isfahan ) is an Iranian artist (sculptures, photography, texts).
Baghramian lives and works in Berlin. In 2007 she received the Schering Foundation's Fine Arts Prize , and in 2012 the Hector Art Prize .
Baghramian's sculptures cite the modernist repertoire of forms from architecture and design and take positions against conservative and patriarchal politics. The installations appear formally precise and autonomous, but at the same time vulnerable in their elegant lightness.
Public collections of her work can be found in the “ Texts on Art ” in Berlin and in the “ Collection of Contemporary Art of the Federal Republic of Germany ” in Bonn.
