Namakoro Niaré

Namakoro Niaré (born June 4, 1943 in Bamako ) is a former Malian athlete (discus thrower).

Career

Niaré took part in the Olympic Games three times for his country Mali between 1968 and 1980 . At the Olympic Summer Games 1968 he was eliminated in discus throwing as 15th in qualification, at the Olympic Summer Games in 1972 he reached the final round and was 13th and at the Olympic Summer Games in 1980 he was 15th in qualification and was eliminated.

Niaré won the discus throwing at the Africa Games in Brazzaville in 1965 , in Lagos in 1973 and in Algiers in 1978 .

He is the father of Yves Niaré , who took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing as a shot putter for France .
