Coordinates: 30 ° 43 ' S , 152 ° 49' O Nambucca Shire is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . The area is 1,491.3 km² and has about 19,200 inhabitants.
Nambucca is located on the east coast of the state on the Mid-North Coast about 450 km north of the metropolis Sydney and 460 km south of Brisbane . The area includes 70 hamlets and towns, including Argents Hill, Bowraville, Burrapine, Eungai Creek, Macksville, Missabotti, Nambucca Heads, Scotts Head, Talarm, Taylor's Arm, Utungun, Valla, and Warrell Creek. The Shire Council is located in the city of Macksville in the east of the LGA, where about 2,800 people live.

The Nambucca Shire Council has nine members who are elected by LGA residents. Nambucca is not subdivided into districts, the eight councilors and the chairman and mayor are directly elected by all residents of the LGA.
