The Namibian Council of Churches (CCN; English Council of Churches in Namibia ) is a private Christian - church organization in Namibia , which promotes the Christian faith in the country and is organized as an umbrella organization of the churches.

The Namibian Council of Churches was founded in 1978 and has also been running democratization programs in various parts of Namibia since the country became independent . It is considered to be the successor organization to the Christian Center founded in Windhoek in 1973 .

The CCN has 19 churches and organizations with around 1.5 million members. The chairman is Reverend Schalk Pienaar .
