Nana Konadu

Nana Konadu (born February 15, 1964 in Sunyani , Ghana ) is a former Ghanaian boxer in the bantam and super flyweight .

Professional career

In 1985 he successfully started his professional career. On November 7, 1989 he boxed in the super flyweight against Gilberto Roman for the world championship title of the association WBC and won by unanimous decision of the judges. However, he lost this belt in his first title defense in January of the following year to Sung-Kil Moon through a "technical decision" in round 9.

In bantamweight he was on January 28, 1996 WBA world champion when he beat Veeraphol Sahaprom in the 2nd round by TKo . In October of the same year, however, he lost the belt to Daorung Chuwatana . On June 21 of the following year Konadu defeated Chuwatana in a direct rematch and thus captured the WBA world title for the second time.

In 1988 he defended the title against Abraham Torres by classic knockout in round 2 and lost it to Johnny Tapia by majority decision.

In 2001 he ended his career.
