Naosuke Miyamoto

Naosuke Miyamoto ( Japanese 宮本 直 介 , Miyamoto Naosuke ; * 1936 in Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass ).

Naosuke Miyamoto worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1960s. At the beginning of the 1970s, he led his own sextet, which was connected to the postbop and which included Kunji Shigi , Masayoshi Yoneda , Shōji Nakayama , Takashi Furuya and Takeshi Gotō . During this time he also played in the trio of George Ōtsuka ( You Are My Sunshine (1974), with Hideo Ichiwara ). In the late 1980s, he recorded in New York City in a trio with drummer Lewis Nash and pianist Shingo Take on ( City Breeze ); The singer Vanessa Rubin was also involved in the session .
