Napalm (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Napalm was a punk rock band from Hamburg . The band existed from 1979 to 1982/83 and consisted of Lui (vocals), Martin Witte (guitar), Frank (guitar), Arne Wagner (bass) and Kai Reder (drums). Ralf Kirstan describes them in the German Punk & Hardcore Discography, which he continued, as “one of the best German punk bands ever!” This is due to the singer's extraordinary entertainment qualities but also to the high level of skill of the others (which is unusual for an early German punk band) Musicians, especially those of the second line-up.

The founders of the band Napalm, who also recorded the song Tolle , were Lorenzo Sohre (vocals), Berthold Rarrek (guitar), Kai Reder (drums) and Raimund Rarrek (bass).

Lui (Lorenzo Castillo-Sohre) is fluent in the Klingon language and also sang with Punkenstein, Razors (after the original singer K. Danker disappeared), the Ramones revival band (later, after a legal dispute with the Ramones, renamed Ramonez '77), Jam Today (here also bass), Phantastix (1st LP bass, 3rd LP vocals), with the Bronx Boys , the Sonics'77, with a Misfits co-band and various other, often only short-term projects . Allegedly he does not intend any further musical activity.

Martin Witte played for Screamer , Punkenstein , Torpedo Moscow , Noise Annoys, Ramonez 77, C3 I, Witte XP. Today he is the guitarist of Razors and runs the MGA studio with the band Big Balls and the Great White Idiot.

Kai Reder also played with Witte and Lui Castillo-Sohre at the Ramonez '77 and Jam Today. Above all, however, for several years in the well-known British hardcore punk band GBH , later with the Hamburg punk formation Motormuschi . Kai Reeder is currently drumming with the Hamburg punk rock band The Letyoudowns.

Arne Wagner played with Torpedo Moscow, C3 I and Noise Annoys. He is currently the singer of the reactivated Hamburg punk band Bierspieler and C3 I.

On December 30, 2010, a revival concert took place in the Hamburg venue Knust. This appearance was the first since 1983. Three concerts followed in England.
