Development and priorities
It became known in the early 1980s through German punk releases by bands from Hamburg and the surrounding area such as Razzia or Blut + Eisen, as well as various records from US hardcore / punk bands such as Adolescents , Circle Jerks or Wipers as a German distributor. In the 1990s the label released the first two albums of ... But Alive . Otherwise, Weird System has been taking care of re-releases of old classics since the 1990s, such as the first Slime albums, the first Toxoplasma album or the complete discographies of pre-war youth , The Buttocks , Chaos Z or Neurotic Arseholes .
The label is also known for its elaborate compilations , such as the Hamburg samplers ( Waterkant Hits (1983), Paranoia in der Straßenbahn (1990), Slam Brigade Haifischbar (1991)), the Keine Experiments! Series in the 1980s, the Nazis out! -Sampler (1991), the Berlin-Sampler Wenn kaputt then we have fun (Berlin Punk Rock 1977–1989) (2002) as a contribution to punk history and the Punk Rock BRD series (parts 1–3).
