The feature film Napoli Dogs is a docu-drama from 2006.
action
The film tells the fate of a pack of eight stray dogs. The focus is on Bartolo, a collie crossbreed with a good-hearted look. He loves the crazy city of Naples, its inhabitants, but above all the freedom he has as a street dog. Nevertheless, he sometimes longs for a family and a place in a house, for petting and a full bowl of food. Just as he once had it as a puppy before he chewed up his mistress' shoes and was then put in front of the door by his master.
But Bartolo was lucky in misfortune. He was taken in by the well-known dog gang, the Napoli Dogs . The troupe teaches him how to survive in the urban jungle of Italy. Every dog has its own characteristics when it comes to getting food. Parthenope is a master at emptying garbage cans, Leopardi and Malocchio have made stealing their own, the dog Chiara stands on her hind paws to soften people with her cute demeanor, and Bartolo wins their attention with his trusting look. Gennaro, the oldest of the gang, usually stays in the background. The exhausting adventures across the city are no longer for him. He is the narrator in the story.
