The Naryntoo ( Kyrgyz Нарын-Тоо ; Russian Нарынтау Naryntau ) is a mountain range in the interior of Tienschan in Kyrgyzstan ( Central Asia ).
The Naryntoo is a 130 km long mountain range. It extends south of the upper reaches of the Naryn and its source river Great Naryn east of the city of Naryn in an east-west direction. The mountain range reaches a maximum height of 4530 m . It consists of limestone , metamorphic mica slate and granite . To the north, the mountains drop steeply into rocky canyons, while to the south they have gentle slopes and loamy-sandy elevations appear at the foot. There is mountain meadow and steppe vegetation. Scree slopes , rocks and gravel dominate the high mountains . There are forest areas in the gorges.
