The Nazarbayev Center is a cultural center in the center of the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan . The institute, founded in 2012, includes a library and several exhibitions. The namesake and client of the project is the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . More than 200,000 people visit the facility annually.

building

The building is located between the Presidential Palace and the Pyramid of Peace and Unity . Like so many others in Nursultan, the building was designed by the British architect Sir Norman Foster . The roof of the modern building is inclined to the north, towards the presidential palace and consists of 15 mm thick glass plates. The total area of ​​the complex is more than 30,000 square meters.

Library

In the so-called library of the first President of Kazakhstan there are around 25,000 books. The library with its reading rooms is open to the public on working days.

exhibition

In the attached museum exhibits on the history of Kazakhstan are presented. The main focus here is on the person of Nazarbayev. The exhibits include, for example, gifts from other heads of state, medals or personal items from the President. There are also special exhibitions in the center, such as the exhibition The President and Astana , which illuminated the development of the capital Nursultan under Nazarbayev in 2017.

The aim of the museum is to educate young people in a patriotic way . For this purpose, excursions or educational seminars are regularly organized.
