The Nassauer See is a reservoir north of Nassau, a district of Weikersheim in the Taubertal between Bad Mergentheim and Rothenburg ob der Tauber . It is situated in Main-Tauber-Kreis , the northernmost district of Baden-Wuerttemberg .
Location and use
The 15 m high and 200 m long dam , which the Nassauer Bach dams, was founded in 1970 by the Water Board Kaiserstraße in Niederstetten for flood protection built. The lake is also used for recreation. “Bathing, boating and camping” are forbidden according to the signs.
Around the idyllically situated lake, which is surrounded by trees and bushes, there is a circular route for walking, hiking and cycling. Picnic benches and barbecue areas are available. Part of the lake is under nature protection (spawning zone for fish).
