Nassulopsis elegans is a species of ciliates (Ciliophora).
The animals are elongated and 200 to 300 micrometers in size. A dark blue pigment spot on the front pole is characteristic of this species. The Schlundreuse consists of complex microtubule structures and is large. There are a large number of mucocysts in the marginal plasma . Among other things, these provide the facet structures of resting cysts .
The habitat of Nassulopsis elegans are small bodies of water . Here the species can be found between duckweed and in the sediment.
