Diaphoretickes is a taxon that belongs to the eukaryotes (living things with a nucleus ). It includes the two super-groups Sar and Archaeplastida . In addition to large groups of unicellular organisms such as the Rhizaria and Alveolata , this crown group also contains the entire plant kingdom.
definition
The taxon was defined purely phylogenetically in 2012 . Diaphoretickes is delimited as the largest common clade around the recent species Bigelowiella natans Moestrup & Sengco 2001 as representatives of Rhizaria, Tetrahymena thermophila Nanney & McCoy 1976 for the alveolata, Thalassiosira pseudonana Cleve 1873 for the stramenopils and Arabidopsis thalianida (Linnaeus).
It thus does not contain the clades about humans ( Homo sapiens Linnaeus 1758) as representatives of the opisthokonta , about Dictyostelium discoideum Raper 1935 for the Amoebozoa and Euglena gracilis Klebs 1883 for the Excavata .
Taxonomy
The taxon was first clearly shown in phylogenetic studies in 2008 by a group led by Fabien Burki . In an article by Sina Adl and colleagues in 2012, the group was described under the name Diaphoretickes. The name refers to the Greek word diaforetikés (διαφορετικές), which means "diverse" and alludes to the variety of morphological and basic cellular characteristics of the representatives of the group.
Diaphoretickes contains the following groups:
- Sar
- Archaeplastida (including plants)
