Natallja Katschanawa ( Belarusian Наталля Іванаўна Качанава ; born September 25, 1960 in Polatsk ) is a Belarusian politician of the Lukashenka regime.

Life

Katschanawa graduated in 1982 the Polytechnic Institute in Nawapolazk and 2006, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk .

From 1982 to 2007 she worked in the state enterprise Wodokanal in Polatsk , in the housing and communal works Polatsk and in the Polatsk city government, where she dealt with questions of regional housing and local politics. From 2007 to 2014, Kachanava headed the Executive Committee of the city of Navapolatsk.

From 2014 to 2016 she was Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus and from 2016 to 2019 Head of the Presidential Administration. She was the first woman to hold this post.

She has been chairwoman of the Council of the Republic , the National Assembly of Belarus, since 2019 , and is also the first woman in this office.
