Council of the Republic (Belarus)
The Council of the Republic ( Belarusian Савет Рэспублікі , Russian Совет Республики , full name Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus , Belarusian Савет Рэспублікі Нацыянальнага сходу Рэспублiкi Беларусь , Russian Совет Республики Национального Собрания Республики Беларусь ) is the upper house in the bicameral system of Belarus . It is located in the capital Minsk .
It consists of 64 members. The 64 members are determined by the six oblasts and the city of Minsk, which each send 8 members. Another 8 members are nominated by the President.
The House of Representatives forms the 2nd chamber (lower house) of the National Assembly.
