The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus ( Belarusian Акадэмія кіравання пры Прэзідэнце Рэспублікі Беларусь , Russian Академия управления при Президенте Республики Беларусь , English Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus ) is the leading university in the national education system of Belarus and the main educational institution in the system of training , retraining and advanced training of administrative staff.
The Administration Academy was founded in 1991. It received the status of a presidential institution in 1995.
About the academy
The Administration Academy is one of the youngest universities in Belarus, offering courses primarily in the fields of economics, law and administration. Specialists for the public service are trained. Graduates can work in the state bodies of the Republic of Belarus, but also in private companies. Over 50,000 students have graduated from the academy since the establishment was founded.
In 1995 the Administration Academy received the status of a Presidential Academy.
There are contracts for cooperation between the Belarusian Administration Academy with the corresponding Presidential Academies of the Russian Federation , Ukraine , Kazakhstan , the Republic of Moldova and also with the Lithuanian Institute for Public Administration, the State Institute for International Relations in Moscow , the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry and other training centers.

The Administration Academy consists of three institutes.
The Institute for Administrative Staff trains administrators and civil servants in two levels of higher education.
The institute offers people who have completed either a comprehensive school, vocational school or technical college a kind of university degree. Three sub-disciplines are offered:
- Public Administration and Law;
- Public administration and economy;
- Management of information resources.
In the Institute of the Public Service , vocational retraining measures are offered for leading public service employees (state bodies and economic administration).
The students acquire modern knowledge in the following areas: state administration, innovation management, business planning, effective forms of cooperation with foreign partners, methods of opening up foreign markets, credit and tax policy, activities of economic entities, sales of goods and services, development of information technologies, development of legislation , psychological methods of administration etc.
The Research Institute for Theory and Practice of Public Administration deals with the problems of methodology and technologies of public administration. The institute has a key function within the state in the field of public administration and public personnel policy when it comes to coordinating programs and projects within the Republic of Belarus.
The main directions of activity of the institute are:
- Social studies and management policy;
- Research on structural parts of the Academy of Administration;
- Teaching process, further education and retraining in the state administration.
In the administration academy, a doctorate can also be acquired with a doctorate (Russian / Belarusian aspirant ).
The library of the Administrative Academy has over 206,000 copies.
The number of works by professors and university lecturers amounts to 520 copies. The library's holdings include the Encyclopaedia Britannica , which consists of 23 volumes.
The textbooks total 112,000 copies, journal works consist of 33,000 copies. 93% of the listeners and students at the Administrative Academy are provided with textbooks.
The administration academy has two teaching buildings and three student residences. There are also several canteens and cafés.
