The National Hellenic Research Center ( Greek Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών , Ethniko idryma erevnon , English National Hellenic Research Foundation , in short: NHRF , French Fondation Hellénique des Recherches Scientifiques ) is an organization for the implementation of multidisciplinary research in the fields of national history, nature and the technological sciences.

In the historical part, it supports research in the field of Greek , Byzantine and Neo- Greek studies . The directors of the departments of the Institute for Historical Research, which were run as independent institutes until 2012, were:

Taxiarchis Kollias is the director of the Institute for Historical Research, established in 2012.

In the scientific and technological part, it is his job to offer applied research and development services, comparable to the German Fraunhofer Society . Another organization in Greece is the Foundation for Research & Technology - Hellas .

The foundation was established by royal decree on October 9, 1958 under the name Βασιλικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών . In 1961 they moved into a new building designed by Konstantinos A. Doxiadis in Athens .
