history

Overarching cooperation between female connections had existed for a long time, and as a result of further intensification, the need for a common umbrella organization was recognized. Therefore, in 1902, the Alpha Phi Association members invited other associations to a conference in Chicago on May 24th . Representatives of Pi Beta Phi , Kappa Alpha Theta , Kappa Kappa Gamma , Delta Gamma , Gamma Phi Beta , Delta Delta Delta , Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega were invited . The representatives of Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega were prevented, but the remaining seven fraternities founded an umbrella organization, and later helped establish the National Interfraternity Conference in 1909 for the male fraternity, later the North American Interfraternity Conference .

On November 12, 1947, the Association of Pedagogical Sororities joined the NPC, but some are now run in other umbrella organizations.
