The Millî Selamet Partisi (German National Salvation Party, MSP) was an Islamist- oriented political party in Turkey .

The MSP was founded on October 11, 1972 by members of the Millî Nizam Partisi (National Order Party ) (MNP), which was banned after the 1971 military coup . The first leader of the party was Suleyman Arif Emre , who was replaced on October 20, 1973 by Necmettin Erbakan . The party, which received 1.2 million votes (11%) in the 1973 election, managed to get into the National Assembly. On January 26, 1974, the MSP took part in the government as a minor partner in the government coalition with the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (Republican People's Party) under the leadership of Bülent Ecevit . Erbakan became Deputy Prime Minister. TheOccupation of Cyprus by Turkish troops was carried out by this coalition. But the coalition didn't last more than 7 months.

After the end of this coalition, the MSP took part this time in the government coalitions with conservative-nationalist parties. The so-called First Nationalist Front , consisting of the Adalet Partisi (Justice Party, AP), the Milliyetçi Hareket Partisi (Nationalist Movement Party) (MHP), the Republican Trust Party (CGP) and the MSP, was founded on March 31, 1975. The party also took part in the following governing coalition, the so-called Second Nationalist Front , which was formed after the 1977 election to the National Assembly .

The Millî Selamet Partisi was banned after the military coup of 1980 like all other political parties. The party's leading cadres were acquitted by the military court.

It was succeeded by Refah Partisi , founded in 1983 , after its ban in 1997, the Fazilet Partisi and, after its ban in 2001, again by Saadet Partisi, founded in 2001.
