The 1977 election for the National Assembly in Turkey took place on June 5, 1977.
The result was a victory for the Republican People's Party (CHP), with a turnout of 72.4%.
The 213 seats won were not enough for a majority, so the CHP had to look for a coalition partner to govern. Süleyman Demirel from second-placed Adalet Partisi was tasked with forming a government.
