General election in Turkey 1946
The parliamentary election in Turkey on July 21, 1946 was the third multi-party election in the history of the Republic of Turkey , following the 1930 local elections and the local elections on May 26, 1946 .
The choice is not considered a completely equal and free choice.
The 465 members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly were elected . The ruling CHP received almost six-seventh of all votes cast. After the parliamentary elections, Recep Peker (1889–1950 ) was elected Prime Minister on August 7, 1946 as the successor to Şükrü Saracoğlu (1887–1953). He held this office until September 10, 1947.
