The election to the National Assembly in Turkey 1973 took place on October 14, 1973.

The Social Democratic Republican People's Party under Bülent Ecevit achieved a relative majority of 180 of the 450 seats. The conservative Justice Party came as a surprise only 156 seats. Suleyman Demirel's Justice Party had been the strongest in the country since 1965. Demirel was considered the favorite of industrialists and large landowners, but also of medium-sized businesses and farmers.
