Parliamentary election in Turkey, 1939

The parliamentary elections in Turkey in 1939 took place on March 26 of the same year.

As in the previous elections before 1946, only the ruling party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), ran. This time the CHP competed under its new Turkish name “Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi”, before that it was called “Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkası” (CHF). The list of deputies was determined by the President and "National Chief" İsmet İnönü .

Result

İsmet İnönü was re-elected president with a majority. Refik Saydam then resigned from the party.
