Elected to the Senate of Turkey in 1961
The 1961 election to the Senate of Turkey took place on October 15, 1961. It was the first election to the second chamber of the national parliament in the history of Turkey .
procedure
The 150 members of the Turkish Senate were elected . The AP received slightly fewer votes than the ruling CHP , but almost twice as many MPs; this was a consequence of the majority vote .
