National parks in Panama
The 15 national parks of Panama are administered by the Panamanian environmental authority Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (ANAM) in the national protected area system Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas (SINAP). The SINAP currently comprises 64 protected areas with a total area of 2,600,018 ha, which corresponds to approx. 34.4% of the area of Panama.
