Natural moor bath Fleckl
The Fleckl natural moor bath is located in the Fleckl district of Warmensteinach at the foot of the Ochsenkopf in the Fichtel Mountains .
history
The natural moor bath was created from a pond that was artificially created in 1855 for rafting logs from the Fichtel Mountains to Bayreuth . This pond was called Neuer Weiher . In the 1960s, it was expanded as a bathing pond and has since been maintained by volunteers and the community of Warmensteinach.
Scope of the system
In addition to the water area for swimmers (1.5–3.5 m water depth), there is also a non-swimmer area and a children's pool (30 cm water depth). The water is heavily permeated by suspended matter from the bog . What is special, however, is an area at the edge of the forest with a natural moor area that can be used for bathing in the moor. Sanitary facilities with cold water showers, a large children's playground and the sunbathing area complete the facility. Entry is free.
