The Krumbach nature reserve extends north-east of Kleineichen in the town of Rösrath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .
description
The nature reserve includes the Krumbach and another spring stream. The stream is lined with an alder and birch forest. It is sandy, nutrient-poor soils in the Bergische Heideterrasse . The surrounding locations are mostly planted with conifers . The source areas are separated from the stream by an old embankment. The very wet meadow, which is rich in tall herbaceous, is embedded in a swampy alder forest.
Protective purposes
The protection designation takes place for the maintenance and development of a natural, alder-lined stream and accompanying source areas as well as gray alder - birch quarries . In detail, these are the following protective purposes:
- Preservation and development of the extensive, scenically particularly beautiful and diverse stream valley system with particular suitability for recreation in nature,
- Preservation and securing of protected biotopes : rivers , alluvial forests , spring areas, wet and humid grassland,
- Securing the function as a biotope network area of particular, sometimes outstanding importance,
- Preservation and development of the extensive, mostly continuous stream valley and its side valleys and - theyfen as a particularly valuable flowing water ecosystem .
