description

The nature reserve comprises two deeply cut sieves , of which the Immetsiefen flows directly into the Sülz . On the slopes there is predominantly old mixed forest with beech , hornbeam and oak . The streams are largely natural, the southern one is interrupted by a pond . Where the two streams converge, the slopes are overgrown by relatively poor and species-rich lean grassland. In the southern part there are small stands of fruit trees.

Protective purposes

The protection designation takes place for the maintenance and development of a predominantly wooded sieve system with poor hillside grassland . The following protection purposes are specified in detail:

  • Preservation and securing of protected biotopes: flowing waters, source areas,
  • Securing the function as a biotope network area of outstanding importance,
  • Preservation and development of the sieve system as a diverse biotope complex of old hillside forests and flowery hillside grassland,
  • Conservation and development of near-natural, continuous streams and source areas,
  • Preservation and development of old mixed forest with beech , hornbeam and oak as well as location-appropriate alder forests in the source areas,
  • Preservation and development of species-rich, extensively used hillside grassland.
