Naunhofer Lakes
The Naunhofer Lakes consist of three lakes in the area of the Saxon community Naunhof in the district of Leipzig . The lakes emerged from gravel pits that were needed for the construction of the motorway.
The Naunhofer See (also Grillensee ) with 57 hectares , the Ammelshainer See (also Moritzsee ) with 53 hectares and the Albrechtshainer See with 24 hectares of water surface are important attractions for tourism in the district and far beyond. The connection to the A 14 motorway (junction 29, Naunhof) and the good parking facilities are particularly advantageous . The lakes are located in the Leipziger Neuseenland , a network of bathing lakes, some of which are still being created , mainly from recultivated opencast mining holes .
