Navette ( French for "boat") is one of the brilliant cut derived elongated cut form for gemstones . The cut shape of the navette can be described as an ellipse with tapering ends at the main vertices.

Since the navette is similar in shape to a ship's hull or a weaver's shuttle , it is also known under the synonym shuttle . For the French synonym Marquise , the Marquise de Pompadour is said to have stood as godmother, who had a great preference for two-pointed hats , which also look similar to the Navette.

Like the diamond, the basic shape of the navette consists of 32 facets in the upper part next to the table and 24 facets in the lower part.
