history

The name Navyboot comes from the shore shoes used by the American Navy. In 1991 the company founder Bruno Bencivenga started with a men's shoe model, the Navyboot Original. Its distinguishing mark is a fine, contrasting line on the sole. It is part of the collection as a women's and men's model. In 1992 a single model became a collection with several models for men. One year later, the license for women's outerwear was granted to Schild and for glasses to von Hoff AG . Navyboot shoes for women were presented for the first time in 1996. The shoe and accessories brand opened its first own store in 2001 at Bellevue in Zurich, followed by other branches, exclusively in Switzerland. In 2008 the Gaydoul Group took over the company. In the same year Navyboot expanded to Germany. In 2011, the company entered the Asian market with a first branch in Hong Kong. As part of a realignment, the design of the shoes has been developed by an in-house design team since 2009.

Distribution channels

Navyboot offers its products in its own retail stores, outlets and shop-in-shops. The more than 50 points of sale are spread across Switzerland and Germany . Navyboot has been running an online shop since 2014. The women's and men's outerwear is offered in the Swiss branches of Schild . The Navyboot sunglasses are sold in Switzerland through the Hoff AG licensee .
