Nayagarh is a city in the Indian state of Odisha .
Nayagarh used to be the capital of the principality of the same name . Today Nayagarh is the administrative seat of the Nayagarh District . The city is 75 km west of Bhubaneswar , the capital of Odisha. The national highway NH 224 ( Khordha - Subarnapur ) runs through Nayagarh.
In the 2011 census, the population was 17,030. The city has the status of a Notified Area Council .
